This is an archive of cue sheets used on the Chicago Cycling Club's rides. It is intended to provide ready access for members wanting to lead a ride with either a ready-made route or one modified from an original route. My hope in this effort is that it will be easier for potential ride leaders to set up a route, thus perhaps making it easier to fill up the ride schedule with a variety of rides lead by a variety of leaders.
To my knowledge the following routes are tested and have already been used on rides. However, some are old and the roads are always subject to change and construction, and others are reportedly just plain wrong. Therefore, ride leaders are very strongly encouraged to pre-ride the routes shortly before leading a ride in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. Take a map so you can re-plot the route! Additionaly, the archive is set up to allow potential ride leaders to modify routes easily. Thus they tend to be minimally formatted in order to avoid conflicts with whatever tools you may use.
This archive originated with the legendary Route Library in loose-leaf binders passed down from members past, and to date most have not been added yet to the web archive. I am trying to collect them in electronic format to avoid typing them in, and I would appreciate your help. Here are some guidelines for submitting routes old or new, and here is a list of hardcopy cue sheets that I have not yet added to the web archive.
